There is a woman whose story cannot be explained by her strength alone.
She has cried in secret, carried burdens nobody saw, walked through disappointment, and faced seasons that could have broken her. Yet she is still standing. not because she has always been strong, but because she was divinely assisted.
“And he shewed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the LORD, and Satan standing at his right hand to resist him.” — Zechariah 3:1 (KJV)
She still faces battles but she has learned that she does not have to face them without God.
When You Are Standing and Still Being Resisted
Zechariah 3: 1 gives us the biblical picture.
Joshua the high priest is standing before the Angel of the LORD, while Satan stands beside him “to resist him.”
Yet, in the vision, Joshua is standing before the LORD while facing opposition.
This reminds us that being chosen by God does not mean that we will
be free from opposition.
Sometimes we ask, “If God is with me, why am I going through this?”
Scripture shows us that the presence of opposition does not mean the absence of God.
Sometimes, we may face resistance even while walking faithfully with God. Scripture gives us several examples of this.
Joseph was betrayed and imprisoned, yet God was with him. David was anointed and still pursued. Paul was called by Christ and still suffered. The battle may be real, but God is still present.
The Accuser Does Not Have the Final Word. God does.
The Lord responded to Satan:
“The LORD rebuke thee, O Satan; even the LORD that hath chosen Jerusalem rebuke thee.” — Zechariah 3:2 (KJV)
The accuser may be present, but he is not in control of your past, your failures and other people’s opinions do not have the final word God does.
And when you belong to Christ, your hope is not in your perfection but in His grace.
“There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus.” — Romans 8:1 (KJV)
God Gives Grace for What He Calls You To
Joshua stood before God in filthy garments, yet the Lord provided cleansing:
“Behold, I have caused thine iniquity to pass from thee, and I will clothe thee with change of raiment.” — Zechariah 3:4 (KJV)
What a beautiful picture of grace. God does not ignore our sin, but neither does He leave us in it. He cleanses us, restores us and transforms us. The Christian woman does not say, “Look how strong I am.” She says: “Look what God’s grace has done.”
Paul understood this when God told him: “My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness.” — 2 Corinthians 12:9 (KJV)
Your weakness does not make God’s grace insufficient. God is your Helper.
Sometimes divine assistance does not look like God removing the problem. Sometimes it looks like receiving enough grace to keep walking through it.
Isaiah 41:10 says: “Fear thou not; for I am with thee… I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee.”
God does not simply tell you to be strong. He offers Himself as your strength.
The psalmist declares: “My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.” — Psalm 121:2 (KJV)
So when you look back at your life, remember the moments when you thought you would not make it.Yet you did.
Perhaps you were not as strong as you thought, perhaps God was stronger than you realized.
Know the God Who Helps You
The greatest gift of divine assistance is not simply that God changes our circumstances but that through those circumstances, we come to know Him more deeply.
Jesus said: “And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.” — John 17:3 (KJV)
Do not seek only God’s hand; Seek His heart. Know His character, His Word, His faithfulness and His grace. Because when you know who God is, you can trust Him even when you do not understand what He is doing.
Maybe nobody knows how difficult your journey has been. Maybe you have smiled while carrying pain. Maybe you have prayed through tears. Maybe there were moments you wanted to give up.
But look at you. You are still here not because you were never shaken, never fell, or were always strong, but because God held you, grace lifted you, and His strength sustained you.
David said: “I have set the LORD always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.” — Psalm 16:8 (KJV)
So, woman of God, keep your eyes on Him. When the accuser speaks, remember His grace, when you are weak, depend on His strength, when you are afraid, remember His presence and when you do not understand, keep trusting His character.
And when you look back, let your testimony be simple: “The Lord helped me, kept me, restored me, sustained me and the Lord alone deserves the glory.”
A Prayer: Father, Thank You for being my Helper. When I am weak, strengthen me, when I am afraid, remind me that You are with me, when the accuser reminds me of my past, remind me of the finished work of Christ. Teach me to know You more deeply and to trust You more completely. Let my life become a testimony of Your grace, faithfulness, and sustaining power. May I never forget that I am still here because You have helped me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
SALVATION CALL: If you have never truly come to Christ, this is where it begins. Jesus is not only the One who hears your pain
He is the One who died to redeem you from sin and restore you to God.
You can pray: “Lord Jesus, I come to You.
I acknowledge that I am a sinner in need of salvation.
I believe You died for my sins and rose again.
I receive You as my Lord and Saviour.
Change my heart, give me a new life, and help me walk with You.
In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
