Eagle flying with wings spread over mountain range with fog and sunrise

There was a time when I wasn’t living—I was simply surviving.

Each day felt like a battle. I did what I had to do, cared for those around me, and kept moving forward, but my heart was weary. If you’ve ever walked through grief, anxiety, disappointment, or emotional exhaustion, you may know exactly what that feels like.

Sometimes survival is necessary. God gives us grace for those difficult seasons. But He never intended for survival to become our permanent home.

Jesus lovingly invites us into something greater.

“Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” — Matthew 11:28

Notice that Jesus doesn’t ask us to fix ourselves before coming to Him. He simply says, “Come.”

That is the beginning of surrender.

Surrender isn’t giving up; it’s giving our burdens to the One who is strong enough to carry them. It’s choosing to trust God when we don’t have all the answers. It’s releasing control and resting in His unfailing love.

Isaiah reminds us of God’s promise:

“But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength.” — Isaiah 40:31

God may not remove every trial immediately, but He promises to renew those who wait on Him. He restores weary hearts, heals wounded souls, and gives us the strength to keep walking by faith.

Jesus said,

“I have come that they may have life, and have it abundantly.” — John 10:10

Abundant life isn’t a life without pain. It’s a life filled with the presence, peace, and purpose of Christ—even in the middle of difficult seasons.

If you’re tired of merely surviving, let today be the day you surrender your fears, your pain, and your future to God. One prayer, one step of faith, and one day at a time, He will lead you into the life He has prepared for you.

Reflection

What burden have you been carrying that God is asking you to surrender today?

Take a moment to pray and place it in His hands.

An Invitation to Know Jesus

If you’ve never accepted Jesus Christ as your Savior, today can be the beginning of a brand-new life.

The Bible tells us that God loves you so much that He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to die for your sins and rise again so that you could be forgiven and have eternal life. Salvation is a gift of God’s grace, received through faith in Christ.

You can pray:

“Lord Jesus, I know I need You. Thank You for dying for my sins and rising again. I place my trust in You as my Lord and Savior. Forgive me, make me new, and help me follow You all the days of my life. Amen.”

If you prayed that prayer sincerely, welcome to the family of God! I’d love to hear from you. Let’s Connect
