There is a kind of pain that does not leave quickly.
The kind you pray over, cry through, surrender repeatedly, and still wake up carrying. The kind that makes you wonder why healing seems swift for others, yet painfully slow for you.
Yet even here, in what feels unfinished, God is not absent.
He is working in the process.
But God Is in the Process
Many assume healing means arriving at wholeness without process. Yet Scripture reveals something deeper: healing is often a sacred process through which God forms us even as He restores us.
The process may feel hidden.
It may feel slow.
It may feel unfinished.
Yet God is present within it.
Psalm 46:10 declares: “Be still, and know that I am God.”
Before breakthrough comes knowing.
Before answers comes trust.
Before healing is visible, God is present.
Slowness does not signify divine neglect.
Delay does not imply denial.
Often, the process itself is where God accomplishes His deepest work.
Healing has been paid for through the finished work of Christ. Just as salvation was secured at the cross, healing was also provided—yet it must be received by faith.
Isaiah 53:5 declares: “He was pierced for our transgressions… and by His wounds we are healed.”
And 1 Peter 2:24 affirms: “By His wounds you have been healed.”
Faith does not deny the process—it anchors us within it.
It says: even when I do not yet see the fullness, I trust what Christ has already accomplished.
Healing Often Happens in Layers
God heals with intention, not haste.
He restores in layers—touching wounds with precision and wisdom, revealing only what we are able to bear.
Consider the blind man in Mark 8:22–25.
When Jesus first touched him, his sight was partial.
“I see people; they look like trees walking.”
Then Jesus touched him again, and his sight was fully restored.
This was not a failed miracle, it was a progressive one.
Even within Christ’s ministry, healing sometimes unfolded in stages according to divine purpose.
Your “not yet” is not God’s absence it is evidence that He is still working in progression.
To Know God in the Process Is a Form of Healing
Often we seek relief, while God offers revelation.
We ask God to remove the pain, yet He uses the place of pain to reveal Himself more deeply.
Jeremiah 29:13 says: “You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.”
There is an intimacy forged in suffering that comfort alone cannot produce.
You learn His nearness.
You learn His faithfulness.
You learn His sustaining grace.
And in that knowing, healing begins—not merely outwardly, but inwardly.
God Works in What is Unfinished
We often misinterpret unfinished seasons as failed ones.
Yet God does His deepest work in what is incomplete.
Philippians 1:6 reminds us: “He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”
What is unfinished is not abandoned.
It is still under divine construction.
God is not limited by what is incomplete—He is actively working within it, shaping, refining, and bringing it toward His intended purpose.
What is unfinished is not the end of the story—it is the place where God is still working.
Final Encouragement
Philippians 1:6 assures us: “He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion…”
What is unfinished is not abandoned.
God is faithful to complete what He has begun.
Healing has been secured through Christ and is received by faith, even as it unfolds in time.
Stand on His Word.
Trust in His finished work.
A Prayer for the Journey
Father, Thank You for being present in every part of my process.
When I feel weary, remind me that You are my strength.
When I feel uncertain, anchor me in Your truth.
When I cannot see progress, help me trust that You are still at work.
Teach me to walk by faith and not by sight.
Let my heart grow in the knowledge of who You are.
Let this process draw me closer to You, not away from You.
And help me to rest in the assurance that what You have started, You will finish. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
