✨ Introduction
Deliverance is a powerful beginning.
It marks the breaking of chains. It is the lifting of burdens. It’s the moment God says:
“You are free.”
But freedom is not the end of the story. After the chains fell, I found myself asking:
• Who am I now?
• How do I live on the other side of deliverance?
At first, my faith felt small. I believed, but I was still learning how to stand. I prayed, but sometimes wondered if God was listening.
Yet in the hands of Jesus, even the smallest seed of faith is not wasted. It is a seed — and seeds grow. 🌱
Through that growth, He reveals our true identity:
✨ We are not captives.
✨ We are not the broken.
✨ We are His beloved children.
1. Freedom Is the Beginning, Not the End
Israel’s story reminds me of this truth. When God parted the Red Sea, they walked into freedom. But the journey didn’t end there — they had to learn who they were as God’s chosen people.
In the same way, my deliverance was a doorway, not a destination.
Freedom took me out of bondage, but identity is what teaches me how to live in that freedom. It’s the difference between being released and being restored.
2. Understanding the Stages of Faith
Faith is not static. It grows and changes. Scripture shows us different expressions of faith:
No Faith (apistía):A closed heart that resists or fears. In Nazareth, unbelief kept people from experiencing the fullness of God’s power (Mark 6:5–6).
Little Faith ( oligópisstos):This is real faith, but fragile. panics in storms (Matthew 8:26), and forgets what God has already done. Jesus often rebuke his disciples and not condemn them, but to strengthen them.
Mustard Seed /small Faith: Jesus compared faith to a mustard seed: tiny, but alive (Matthew 17:20). Even a small spark of genuine trust, when acted upon, can move mountains.
Great Faith (megalē pistis): Jesus praised two people for their “great faith.” These individuals were the Roman centurion (Matthew 8:10) and the Canaanite woman (Matthew 15:28). Both showed humility, persistence, and confidence in Christ’s authority. Great faith fixes its eyes on Jesus, not on circumstances, and refuses to let go.
👉 Every stage matters, because even little faith is faith — and God can grow it
3. When Faith Feels Little
Jesus often rebuked His disciples for their “little faith.”
When the storm raged and the boat filled with waves, the disciples cried out in fear. Jesus replied:
“Why are you afraid, you of little faith?” (Matthew 8:26)
Then He calmed the wind and the sea.
When Peter stepped out of the boat and began to sink, Jesus promptly caught him and said:
“You of little faith, why did you doubt?” (Matthew 14:31)
💡 These rebukes were not rejection — they were invitations to grow. Little faith can start the journey, but great faith finishes it. We must nurture our faith so we can rest confidently on God’s Word, endure trials, and see His promises fulfilled.
4. From Little Faith to Great Faith
Faith is like a seed 🌱. At first, it looks insignificant — just a whisper of hope. But seeds are meant to grow.
🌿 How Faith Grows
• 📖 By hearing God’s Word (Romans 10:17) — Scripture strengthens faith.
• 🙌 Through obedience in small things — each step builds trust.
• 🔥 In trials and tests — faith is refined like gold.
• 🤝 With prayer & fellowship — community creates an atmosphere for faith to flourish.
🌿 Characteristics of Great Faith
Great faith is not louder — it is deeper.
- The Centurion (Matthew 8:5–8) trusted Jesus’ word without seeing.
- The Canaanite woman (Matthew 15:21–28) persisted despite silence.
Great faith:
✨ Trusts God’s Word without proof.
✨ Persists despite delay.
✨ Glorifies God and points others to Him.
🌿 Moving Ahead
• Start where you are — don’t despise your seed of faith.
• Feed your faith daily with Word and prayer.
• Act on what you believe.
• Remember past victories — reminders that God is faithful.
5. Who God Says We Are
Our identity isn’t defined by how strong or shaky our faith feels. It is anchored in God’s declarations:
📖 “If anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come. The old has gone. The new is here!” (2 Corinthians 5:17)
📖 “You are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession.” (1 Peter 2:9)
📖 “You will get a new name. The Lord Himself will bestow it upon you.” (Isaiah 62:2)
Deliverance sets us free from the past, but identity sets us free for the future.
6. Walking in the New Identity
Becoming is a process, not an instant transformation. Each day is a step.
🌸 I renew my mind with Scripture until God’s Word speaks louder than my past.
🌸 I speak life over myself — declaring what God says, even when I don’t feel it.
🌸 I stay connected to a community that strengthens my faith.
🌸 I step into purpose — even in small ways — trusting God with the outcome.
7. Encouragement for Today
Looking back, I see how each stage has shaped me:
• Deliverance broke the chains.
• Grief softened the heart.
• My faith grew from little to great.
• Identity brought restoration and direction.
If you’re in the middle of your own becoming, take courage. 🌱
Little or small faith is not the end — it’s the beginning of something greater. God is growing you, shaping you, and preparing you to walk fully in who He created you to be.
🌸 Closing Words
Friend, you are more than your past.
You are more than your pain.
You are more than your doubts.
💖 You are God’s child — chosen, beloved, restored.
Deliverance gave you freedom, but identity gives you direction. Walk boldly into who God has called you to be. Your story is still unfolding, and He is making something beautiful out of it. 🌷
